Video is cool, but how will it make money?

I read a really interesting article the other day - Who Will Make Money with User-Generated Online Video? and it was very thought provoking. When it comes to Web2.0 and User-Generated Content, YouTube is the belle of the ball. It has the technology, the traffic and the audience, but where is the money? Is it in a subscription-based model? Free-bandwidth in exchange for advertising? Or is its best value in the attention it can bring to an established brand? Hmmm... could be.

What would happen if Apple bought YouTube? Howzabout Microsoft or Yahoo? Maybe Rupert Murdoch will attach it to MySpace? They certainly could afford the million-dollar a day (?) price tag for the bandwidth being used.  I am very curious to see how it all pans out.
