I have been thinking a lot. Exploring my world and making decisions of where I want to fit in.
I was not going to start blogging here until some key things have been decided. I have the post titled already as "what I am doing and why." This is not that post. It's coming soon (I hope).
This post is being written because I have just listened to one of the most inspirational biographies. A biography of a man who was a holocaust survivor. I Have Never Forgotten You: The Life and Legacy of Simon Wiesenthal
He was 90lbs when he was rescued from his camp. He spent the rest of his life seeking justice. But more than that he also re-built his life. In the face of constant struggle, let downs, resistance, death threats, and outright hatred - he lived. He not only re-built his life, he built his legacy. In his final years he received ongoing recognition, honors and awards for his efforts and his successes; for his determination and his passion.
He celebrated his 90th birthday at the Imperial Hotel, simply to make his mark on a history scarred by Hitler. The hotel was Hitler's favorite, and Simon Wiesenthal's celebration showed that Hitler was gone, but Simon's people were still there; singing and dancing.
This man's life is a demonstration that it does not matter where you come from, or what you have, or how difficult your path is. What matters is that you are true to your passions and therefore true to yourself. A person can set out to do great things and fail or live a life of misery. But if a person sets out to be their greatest self they can find that they have the ability to overcome all obstacles and live an incredible life.
