Passion + Creativity + Surprising Talents = 1 Great Day!

I have been in a bit of a slump the past few days and could not pinpoint the exact reasons. A couple of clients have taken some turns that I am not in agreement with for one. The result does mean less money that I can count on, but that is not why I think their path is wrong - but it does add salt to the wound. Money stress is never a good thing, especially when I just hired a new full time employee and need to make payroll now. But I have been getting through those feeling with all my standard affirmations, faith, and self-confidence.

And it has worked! Two new clients came through this week!! I mean - everything always has worked out for me - in some of the strangest ways - things end up ok. My faith was confirmed, but it did not help the rut I was in. I was still feeling bitter and almost angry and could not figure out why and was doing my absolute best not to take it out on anyone. I think I managed well.

Today I met with Kyle Young for coffee. For 3 years Kyle and I have been trying to connect for coffee. That's 3 years!!!! and it finally happened today and it seems it was exactly what I needed. We shared stories about our teenage sons and about work and about women. Three hours and two mochas later we parted ways and I was finally in a great mood. We had a plan to meet again to explore our passions and to find ways to work together. It was just what I needed apparently, a little girl talk, some new ideas and a lot of passion about life in general.

I returned to the studio and there was Mallory, my new teammate churning out some really great stuff. I mean, I have literally thrown her in the fire and she has been blazing! Meanwhile Daddy-o, Blue, and Lawrence was playing with the new studio equipment and had their intern jump in the studio and start singing along with some of the tracks and surprisingly he was a pretty good vocalist. Later Les came in with some of his contacts who had a script for a animation they are producing. The next thing I know Les is in the studio recording all kinds of voice overs. The man has many, many talents.

Overall a very fun day and a reminder of how many blessing I have in my life.
